The Lakers get a week to rest and recharge before the NBA Finals begin June 5. The Lakers will not have home-court advantage, but they will bring in by far the league’s best postseason record: 12-3.
“It is a tremendous accomplishment,” Kobe Bryant said. “The West is extremely tough. For us not to have as much experience as some of the other teams in the West and still be able to get through the West, I think it shows a lot of maturity, a lot of understanding.
“We’re all extremely excited and proud about it. Now it’s time to go on and see if we can’t finish it off.”
Bryant, the NBA’s regular-season MVP, has been tremendously efficient in the postseason. He is averaging 31.9 points on 50.9 percent shooting from the field. He also has 87 assists against 47 turnovers and is averaging 6.1 rebounds.
